Poached chicken

  • 2 x cloves garlic, halved
  • 1 ltr water (add chicken stock if you want)
  • Put water, stock, garlic in a large saucepan over medium-high heat.
  • Bring to the boil. Add chicken. Return to the boil.
  • Reduce heat to low. Simmer, covered, for 15 minutes or until chicken is just cooked through.
  • Remove from heat. Stand chicken in liquid for 5 minutes.
